IT’S PRETTY strange that we didn’t have a single power play at all during the game in Telford on Sunday and there’s been a bit of a pattern because we didn’t have one against Manchester (a 5-1 win on October 2) either.

It was a really competitive game against Telford and the referees tried to let the game flow by not blowing the whistle when little things happened.

We had two soft ones given against us, which happens – referees don’t mean to make the wrong calls – but it really is strange that we didn’t get any penalties go our way.

We wanted to try and keep our players on the ice on Sunday because Telford are one of the top teams in the league.

We knew that they were good on the power play but maybe they thought the same thing with us because we’re good at it too.

We spoke about it a few weeks ago, saying that our power play has to be one of the best in the league, if not the best in the league, and maybe other teams are thinking that they can’t give away penalties against us.

We’ll take that compliment and maybe we’re going to have to do a lot more five-on-five in practice.

Both of our games against Telford have finished 1-1 and then the winner has come in overtime to make it 2-1.

Sometimes, you’re not that tired after a game but Sunday definitely felt like a work-out.

We’ve got four more games against Telford and I’m really looking forward to all of them.

In the locker room afterwards, I wasn’t satisfied, even though we’d got a point against one of the top sides in the league.

To not be satisfied shows how well we’re doing as a team at the moment – three points was a great weekend but I think we’d like to have got even more.

We were losing 3-2 against Peterborough and came back in the third period to win, and we were losing at Telford and came back again in the third period, so it’s great to see that we can say ‘we need to get back into this game’ and go and do it.

There’s a good feeling in the locker room at the moment and it’s definitely nice to have so much momentum.
