WHEN I first started playing in this league and the league above, you never really saw too much movement between clubs for imports but now, it seems to happen more often.

Players get let go and things like that and because of the financial difficulties at Manchester, Robin Kovar left there and we’ve managed to bring him in, which is great for us because he’s a real quality forward.

With the people that we’ve had out of the line-up recently, I think it was important that we brought some fresh blood in, and I’m looking forward to this weekend now that we’ve got Kovar.

With Aaron (Nell) missing and some of the other guys, one of the things that we’ve really been lacking is goals – we’ve definitely been missing that from some of the British guys – so hopefully he’ll be able to bring some more of those to the teams.

I remember playing against him over the last three years and I know that he’s a good player, so I think that it’s given everyone a bit of a boost ahead of the weekend.

Kovar comes in because we’ve lost Mark Smith, and he’s had an absolutely horrendous week.

We tried hard to win on Sunday (at Guildford Flames) for him because we wanted to give him something that would cheer him up, but unfortunately, we couldn’t do that.

Kenton’s part of our team too, and they both need to go away and deal with their family tragedy right now.

Mark’s a classy guy and Kenton is too. He was there before the game on Sunday and said that he’s still going to be around to be a part of the team but all of us are going to be there for him as well and we’re going to support him and Kenton however we can.

It gives us all something extra to play for and that’s what we’re going to do.

We’ve got a really big game against Telford on Saturday, which is going to be tough, and we’ve been told to assume that our game on Sunday at Manchester is going to happen, unless we hear otherwise.

We’ve got to be prepared for it and in terms of my regime, I’ll make sure that I’m ready to play because you can never be over-prepared.

They gave us a good game last weekend and it wasn’t easy but I’d say that we were professional.

We can’t turn up too happy-go-lucky, thinking it’s going to be easy – we’ve got to be ready to play a proper game.
