SWINDON Wildcats player-coach Aaron Nell lamented his side after they fell to a crushing 8-2 defeat at the Link Centre.

Ahead of the game Nell was forced to make adjustments to his side following the arrival of import Robin Kovar earlier in the week.

Due to a lack of D-men, Jan Kostal had to play out of position against the league pace setters who made themselves at home in the Link Centre.

Tomasz Malasinski and Kovar were the only two players who would get on the score sheet for the Wildcats, in what was a frustrating night for Nell.

“It was a tough one tonight, we were really poor and that was the first game this season where we have been that poor at home,” said the Wildcats chief.

“Every player wasn’t good enough tonight and it was very disappointing, we had one game to think about this weekend.

“It wasn’t even good enough, it was terrible, we have been good at home.

“I think we have played poorly and won games and the games we have lost, we lost well but nothing worked tonight.

“No-one worked hard enough it was poor, we are a team where our top players have to be really good for us to be successful and they weren’t very good tonight.

“We have replaced people as best we can, we can’t use injuries as an excuse (when you lose 8-2).”

Nell did draw one highlight from the performance Malasinski and Kovar combined for the latter’s debut goal, but reiterated his side need to up their game ahead of next weekend’s clash with MK Lightening.

“It leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Him and Tomasz had one practice together and I am going to keep them two together.

“He’s a good player and he hasn’t practiced in six weeks, it’s going to take him a while to get going again.

“He was a positive, he got a nice goal there, but in general the whole thing needs to be better so we need to buck our ideas up.”
