SWINDON Wildcats have announced that Kyle Smith has left the club as a result of increased work commitments.
Smith signed for the Cats from the Okanagan Hockey Academy alongside fellow youngster Ollie Stone last term and went on to make 35 appearances, scoring two goals.
After putting a niggling wrist injury behind him over the summer, Smith made six outings for the Wildcats this season.
Wildcats player-coach Aaron Nell says it is a shame to see the teenager leave the Link Centre but has reiterated there is always a place for him at the club.
“We’re disappointed to see Kyle leave us, we wish him all the best for the future and would like him to know the door will always be open for him in Swindon if he decides to make a return to hockey," he said.
