SWINDON Wildcats have re-signed signed former defenceman Yousif Abu Saada for the 2009/10 season.

Abu Saada, 22, returns to his home-town club following a spell with Wightlink Raiders, where he won their Defenceman of the Year award.

The 5” 7' blue-liner links up once again with former coach, Gareth Endicott, and returns a more seasoned player keen to impress the Link Centre’s faithful fans and head coach Ryan Aldridge.

“Abu is another player I wanted to bring back to the club when taking the job last year”, said Aldridge.

“He is not the biggest but he does not get intimidated by it and is not scared to get in the corners and take the body.

“I will be looking for him to play simple and hard and I know he will be a big asset to the club.

“His heart is here in Swindon and he wants to play for his hometown club. He’s another good character for the locker room, too.”

Aldridge expressed his pleasure with how his squad is coming together, with the likes of Endicott, Sam Bullas, netminder Geoff Woolhouse, defenceman Jan Krajicek and Bracknell’s Matt Foord and Joe Baird also on board for the new campaign.

The head coach added: “Our roster is full of players that will battle for you and that goes a long way over a seven month season.”

The management of the Swindon Wildcats are holding a fans’ forum on Tuesday, June 23 at 7.30pm at the Link Centre.

Fans have the chance to ask questions, give feedback and opinions and express their ideas about the club.

Limited spaces are available, so if you would like to participate, please email office@swindonwildcats.com or call 01793 886857.

Meanwhile, the club have finalisedthe details for their opening fixtures of the 2009/10 season.

A trip to Slough on September 9 (face-off 8pm), is followed by the return on September 16 at the Link (face-off 7.30 pm).

Further dates will be confirmed soon.

The Cats will face nine other clubs in the 10-team EPL structure, with former Elite League clubs Manchester Phoenix and Basingstoke Bison replacing the departing Isle of Wight Raiders and the Telford Tigers.
