THE Swindon Wildcats may have lost Matt Foord to the Bracknell Bees but they have re-signed Shane Moore in return.

Moore, pictured below, returns to the Link Centre for a second spell at the club having first pulled on the jersey in the 2002/03 season.

The Swindonian’s impressive displays at the heart of defence resulted in a call-up to the Great Britain Under 18 squad during his initial time in Wiltshire.

This was followed by stints at Basingstoke Bison, Milton Keynes Lighting and the Bees before agreeing to become the latest piece in Ryan Aldridge’s jigsaw ahead of the new season.

Moore said: “After speaking with Aldy, I really liked his plans for the coming season and wanted to be a part of it.

“The last few seasons have been tough for me with the travelling taking its toll, so I’m looking forward to being back with the Wildcats and building on their past few seasons.”

Cats’ head coach Aldridge is happy to welcome Moore back, adding: “Shane is a solid stay-at-home D man who I think has matured a lot over the last two years.

“He is strong in front of the net and in the corners and he makes the first pass.

“I am happy he has chosen to come back to Swindon to play and I am sure he will play a big part in any success we have this year.”
