WOOTTON Bassett have enjoyed a fine start to the season, with the A team winning all six of their games and are sitting top of the Division Four.

Last weekend the A team had a tough match, taking on Delta Red C. With the score level at half-time, Bassett had to tighten up their defence in order to secure a 45-32 win.

Liz Kelly had a superb shooting game and Holly Woodridge offered good support in centre court to take home player of the match award.

Bassett B weren’t so lucky as they went down 47-33 to a Croft D team, who are second in Division Four.

However, the team are still third in the table following their promotion last season and have some young players who are developing well.

This season, Bassett have also introduced a junior team to continue the club’s growth.

In Division Five, Marlborough and Lawn E played out a thrilling match. Marlborough were five goals behind going into the final quarter but mounted a brave fightback, with Lawn eventually winning by one.

Raychem looked strong in a 69-21 success over Corsham in Division One.

They dominated from the first whistle through pinpoint passing by the centre court players, with Haley Roberts named player of the match.

Raychem B lost 54-46 to Moredon A 46-54 but took many positives from the game. They were only promoted this season and have taken points from all but one match.

Lawn Netball Club got back to winning ways with a clean sweep of victories.

In Division Two, Lawn B beat Raychem C 55-34, with shooter Abby Simpson awarded player of the match.

Burmah A played Nationwide A, with debutant Lauren Rogers taking the player of the match crown after helping her team to a 46-39 success.

Burmah B also played Nationwide, taking on the B team in Division Two and also securing the win 44-32. Jodie Tucker was player of the match.

Also in Division 2, Abbey Meads A beat Fairford A 50-32. Angie Burrell was given player of the match for Fairford.

Abbey are undefeated this season, while Fairford sit fourth in the table.
