MARLBOROUGH were unable to avenge their previous loss to Coleview in Division Five but took an improved result, going down 38-14 after losing 51-11 first time around.

They worked hard defensively, applying pressure to Coleview to force early errors and only trailed 10-8 at one point in the first half.

However, Coleview made positive changes at half-time and began to pull away. Marlborough went out in the last quarter with determination and the combination of Joss Drew and Hannah Setter in defence forced Coleview into some errors, which GA Sydney Short was able to convert.

Raychem had a positive weekend, winning four of their five matches. In Division One, the A and B teams won against Croft A and Burmah A respectively.

Raychem B started strongly, winning the first quarter 10-6. Excellent defending and feeding into the circle by Lucy Butcher and Bethan Harris meant Raychem continued to have the advantage, eventually winning 31-22.

Raychem C faced a tough match against Abbey Meads B, where due to the windy weather, short passes were most effective.

The match was only decided in the final five minutes as Raychem C won 23-21.

Raychem D also took on Abbey, playing their D team in Division Three and beat them comfortably for the second time this season, 65-27.

Raychem E lost to a young and tall Faringdon squad 37-11.

In Division Four, Wootton Bassett B beat Delta Reds C 38-28. There was great movement throughout the court, backed up with accurate feeding to Julie Daniel in attack.

Wootton Bassett A lost their unbeaten record as they went down to Croft D 36-34. Both teams played well, with Dawn Robbins offering great defensive support for Bassett.

After having only six players when they lost to Abbey Meads C at the start of the season, Nationwide C set the record straight with a 34-31 win, which owed a lot to the efforts of Kate Moore at GA.

Lawn B and C teams had another week of convincing wins. Lawn B took on Nationwide B and GA Neav Ingram helped them to a 49-18 success.

Lawn C also showed their dominance of Division Three with a 47-37 win over Fairford B, with Charlotte Clinton intercepting regular attacks AT GK.

There was a 22-17 loss for Lawn E against Delta Reds D, while Lawn D lost 33-17 to Purton.
