NATIONWIDE resumed their Regional League fixtures with a match against Poole, who had defeated them earlier in the season.

The Swindon side played some of their best netball of the season, with excellent shooting from Kate Norton Hewins and Faye Green, while good defending from Hayley Neate and Rachel Kelly helped them to a 30-19 half-time lead.

The court play of Lisa Kitchin, Kathryn Sell and Angela Tapper increased the advantage to 42-29 at the end of the third quarter and they eventually closed out a 52-40 success.

IN THE Swindon & District League, Nationwide C were beaten 33-21 by Lawn C in Division Three.

There were only four goals between the sides for much of the match, but Nationwide struggled to score in the final quarter as Lawn pulled clear.

There were also wins for Lawn’s A and D teams, the former defeating Corsham 41-32 courtesy of a strong defensive game with Julie Harris their player of the match.

The D team saw off Raychem E 35-23, thanks to some fine shooting in poor weather conditions by player of the match Sophie Brown.

Lawn’s E team battled closely with Croft E for the first three quarters, but eventually losing out 34-27 despite a player of the match effort from Cerys Heath.

Lawn’s Rl2 squad defeated their Abbeymeads counterparts 41-35.
