CROFT Netball Club managed three wins and one draw out of six matches in the Swindon & District League last weekend.

Croft A in Division One achieved their highest score of the season beating Moredon A 56-33, with centre Jenny Fletcher and the new combination of Becky Timbrell and Becki Martin excelling in attack, while wing defence Georgia Akerman was named player of the match.

Division One leaders Raychem A played Nationwide C, the only team to beat them so far, and, after jumping out to an early lead, continued to apply pressure throughout to wrap up a 78-29 triumph.

Lawn A defeated Razzle Dazzle 42-31, with a last-quarter surge after the sides had been tied. Goal attack Macy Dawson was named player of the match.

Croft E, in Division Five, beat Pinehurst E 40-6 and Croft F drew with Raychem F 47-47 while in Division Four, Croft D beat Delta Reds C 49-27.

Delta had success elsewhere, with the A team defeating Raychem B 45-38 in the top flight, with goal shooter Sarah Jardine the player of the match.

Having lost by one goal in their previous meeting, Delta Reds B came out strongly against leaders Lawn C, with player of the match Becky Goddard and Carly Regan linking up well to set up the in-form Sarah Bartholomew as Delta won 46-34.

Delta Reds D were not so lucky, taking on division leaders Coleview and losing 47-17, as Pippa Storey was named player of the match.

Raychem’s regional team made the journey down to Devon to take on the Titans, a strong team performance earning them a 50-44 success, their first of the season.

Raychem E beat Pinehurst D 35-30 in Division Four, despite fielding only seven players as squad manager Lynn Tomlin made a guest appearance.

Lawn B had another deserved win against Burmah B in Division Two, their 42-37 success seeing a player of the match display from goal shooter Abbie Simpson.

Lawn D were not as successful against Faringdon, losing out 35-23 despite a player of the match effort from goal attack Courtney Arnold.

Fairford A played Raychem C in Division Two, winning 43-16, Fairford’s goal attack Sasha Gibbs being given player of the match.

A closely-fought Division Three match between Fairford B and Nationwide C the latter edge home 28-26. Nationwide’s centre Marianne Drew and Fairford’s goal attack Ellie Barnes were named players of the match.

Lawn Over 35’s were 28-goal winners over Raychem (48-20), with Sandra Wright and Shelley de Boer given joint players of the match.
