NATIONWIDE C team put in a strong performance against an evenly-matched Croft C, resulting in a 34-34 draw in Division Three.

Nationwide had lost the previous encounter between the sides 37-22 but their line-up of goal shooter Sian Corbyn, goal attack Georgie Brain and centre and player-of-the-match Louise Giles got off to a flying start and secured a five-goal lead by the end of the first quarter.

Croft C stepped up their performance to level at the end of the first half and a scrappy display in the second half from both sides meant they could not be separated.

Royal Wootton Bassett A secured a 52-32 win over Fairford B, with wing attack Grace Evansthe player of the match.

Lawn A took on Raychem B in bottom-of-the-table clash in Division One, Raychem taking the win by one goal, 48-47.

Lawn’s wing attack Jess Hembrough was named player-of-the-match.

Lawn B showed good form in Division Two with a 41-28 win against injury-plagued Fairford A.

Strong defence by Lawn earned goal defence Ehlana Drury a deserved player-of-the-match award, with centre Ange Burrell claiming the honour for Fairford.

Lawn D came out second-best in their clash with Coleview in Division Four, losing 38-27 Royal Wootton Bassett C faced a Division Five match against Burmah C, who triumphed 39-30, with wing attack Jacqui Mudhar awarded player-of-the-match for Bassett.

Abbey Meads C took on Raychem G, who edged home 25-21 as centre Abigail Cook was named Meads’ player-of-the-match.

Lawn E lost to Purton B 53-35.

  • LAWN’S Regional League Two squad had a tough match against Jupiter, falling behind early on but remaining in touch before succumbing to a 60-45 defeat, goal shooter Abbie Simpson receiving player-of-the-match honours.

Lawn over 35’s stayed undefeated league leaders by wrapping up their 10th win in a row with a 45-9 success over Purton in midweek.

There were also junior wins for Lawn’s U12s – 26-11 against Moredon – and U14s, who beat Fairford 35-12.
