SECOND-BOTTOM Lawn A came out on top in their Swindon & District Division One battle with Burmah A on Saturday, defensive player Ehlana Tiley receiving their player of the match award in a 36-34 victory.

In Division Two, the B teams of Lawn and Burmah also played out a close battle, Lawn emerging triumphant 34-30, with goalkeeper Charlotte Clinton being Lawn’s player of the match Lawn C were dominant over Pinehurst C with a 40-27, goal attack Maya Dennison putting in another outstanding performance to earn player of the match honours.

Delta Reds B were 35-29 victors over Nationwide C in their mid-table clash in Division Three, while Purton A edged out Royal Wootton Bassett A 42-37, with Holly Aitkenhead named Bassett’s player of the match.

In Division Four, Lawn D held out away against Pinehurst C, thanks to a player of the match display from Holly Singleton, who helped her side pull away to a 26-21 win.

In an evenly-matched encounter, Royal Wootton Bassett B were narrowly defeated 39-36 by Coleview, despite a player of the match effort from Banita Mudhar.

Lawn E were beaten 42-16 by Burmah C in Division Five, where Royal Wootton Bassett C stayed top of the table as they beat Abbey Meads C 46-7, with goal shooter Hayley Pinchin the player of the match.

n IN THEIR Netball South West Regional League Two clash with Imperial Royals at Highworth Warneford School, Lawn were denied victory as a couple of controversial umpiring calls went against them late on.

Nikki Carvey was Lawn’s player of the match, as they were forced to settle for a 53-53 draw.

In their Regional League Two campaign, Lawn’s U14s emerged from their trip to Cornwall with a 25-23 victory against Penryn, to wrap up the title.
