Lawn enjoyed a successful start to the Swindon & District League season with all six of their teams winning.

The O35s eased to a 53-6 success over Croft following some excellent turnovers and interceptions from the defence and centre court.

Goal shooter Lyn Palmer was named player of the match.

The newly formed E team opened up an 8-0 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to some fine play by centre Phoebe Thompson.

Fairford came back in the second quarter to bring the score within two, but Lawn didn’t let their heads drops and went on to secure a 31-24 victory with Helen Eley the player of the match.

The D side enjoyed a 42-25 win over Purton B with goal attack Hannah Simpson’s shooting accurate, while centre Lucy Drury was player of the match thanks to her fine interceptions and reading of the game.

The C side tackled recently promoted Royal Wootton Bassett A and the defensive unit of Lawn’s player of the match Bailey Trollope, Jade Young and Fi Bowering worked well together to break down the Bassett attack.

Great mid court play from Charlotte Arnold and Ava Kirby assisted the shooting team of Maddy Goode and Lyn Palmer as Lawn won 45-33. Grace Evans took the player honours for Bassett.

Holly Atkins put in a player of the match performance for Lawn B in their 47-30 success over Delta, while Lawn A made it three wins from three in Division One as they defeated Corsham 45-35 with the defensive unit of Shelley De Boer, Steph Iles and player-of-the-match Ehlana Drury impressing.

Royal Wootton Bassett B made a good start agains the Jets in an even first half, however, the Jets pulled pulled away in the last quarter to win 35-28. Lisa Rutter was named Bassett’s player-of-the-match.

Banita Mudhar shone for Bassett’s C side in their Division Four 57-25 success over Pinehurst D.

Fairford A battled all the way during their game with Raychem B.

With several new players, Fairford started well, but the experience of Raychem helped to a 53-43 victory.
