RAYCHEM A continued to enjoy an unblemished record at the top of the Swindon & District Winter League after a 49-40 success over Nationwide A.

A close first half saw Raychem lead 25-22 but good defence work from Vikki Craddock, Chelsey Fitzgibbon and Tracy Watt, plus shooting from Sam Parker and Lucy Jackson saw them home, Amy Corrie being Raychem’s player of the match.

Lawn A are also five from five after beating Croft A 43-28, centre Jodi Sealey the player of the match.

In Division Two, Royal Wootton Bassett A were edged out 35-30 by Burmah B, Caroline Beard being Bassett’s player of the match.

Nationwide B held away against Delta A, earning a 41-28 triumph while in their inter-club battle, Lawn B got the better of their C team 38-35, goal defence Florrie Green being their player of the match, with goal shooter Maddie Goode taking C team honours.

The B and C teams of Royal Wootton Bassett met in Division Four, the B team taking an early lead and going on to win 50-35. Goal defence Mollie Smith was awarded player of the match for B team with Jess Tilling earning top billing for the C side.

Moonraker met Delta B for the first time since promotion, coming back from 12-4 down after the first quarter to win 50-37, Jo Moody was player of the match.

Topping the table are Lawn D, who made a slow start in the first quarter against Raychem D but edged an 8-5 lead.

A good defensive display saw Lawn increase their lead by five going into half-time and they eventually pulled away to a 44-29 success, Hannah Simpson being player of the match.

Lawn are three from three in the O35s division after their 40-13 victory over Purton, wing defence Kate Dawson earning herself player of the match honours after a series of interceptions.

In Regional League Three, Lawn lost out 58-38 against an experienced Poole side, despite coming back strongly to win the last quarter 13-10, courtesy of some fine defending and key interceptions from Ehlana Drury.

Lucy Ruddle was awarded the player of the match.
