SEAN Millwaters is expecting Supermarine’s trip to Combe Down tomorrow to be their biggest test of the season so far.

The Bath side have won all six of their home games on Dorset & Wilts 1 North this season, but in contrast remain winless on the road.

Marine go into the contest on the back of a 33-5 win over Calne and coach Millwaters is expecting a thorough examination from a side who play the majority of their rugby through the forwards.

“Playing Combe Down at Combe Down is always going to be hard, because they are so strong there, and I fully expect this game to be our hardest game of the season,” he said.

“They’ve played six and won six and they are obviously a good side, although we got a bonus point win at home, but that was on a big flat pitch which is pretty wide.

“They play on a smaller pitch which they know very well, and play it well, and their gameplan is route one rugby. What they want is a very tight game and I think that’s how they’ve been getting the wins.

“Our game is to move the ball and attack the space so we couldn’t be more different.”

While Millwaters is expecting a tough game against a physical side he believes the only way to rise to the challenge is by attempting to play Marine’s brand of running rugby.

“They are very good at home but we have to go there with the mindset of executing our gameplan and doing our job,” he said.

“We’ve beaten them comfortably once, although it all game in the last 25 minutes or so, and we know we can do it again.

“They’ve beaten some top teams at home so we need to go there and do our job because on our day we can beat any team in this league.

“If our forwards can get the platform then the backs can expose the space and we need to have the right mindset.”
