SWINDON Supermarine coach Sean Millwaters described this Saturday’s match against Swindon seconds as a no-win situation.

Millwaters’ team are favourites for the game at Greenbridge Road as they chase the Dorset & Wilts 1 North title. Marine have won their last three and know that if they can maintain that form they will overtake leaders Minety because of the games they have in-hand.

At South Marston earlier in the season Marine overcame thier local rivals 31-12 but Millwaters thought the scoreline flattered his side.

“We’re in a no-win situation as we’re the first team. If we win it’s because we’re the firsts, if we lose it’s worse because they’re a second team,” said Millwaters.

“It was a bonus point win against them earlier in the season but the scoreline flattered us, it was a closer game than it looked.

“It’s the same old scenario, it’s a second team so you never know what you’re going to face.”

Millwaters was confident that given Marine’s recent form that his team would come out on top.

“If we roll on from last week and maintain the same intensity we should win. On paper we should win, but it’s never quite the same in the local derby.

“We have to win, if we want to win the league.”

Marine will have to rejig their side slightly as Steve Cladwell is unavailable and Tom Neill has a foot injury. Millwaters assessed the situation at training last night and will be adjusting his back row for Saturday.
