FORMER Wootton Bassett youngster Jonny May was part of the England side which narrowly lost to New Zealand yesterday morning.

The Gloucester back started on the wing in the 20-15 defeat at Eden Park, and came close to scoring a try for Stuart Lancaster’s men but was held up just short of the line in the second half.

Despite leading into the final few minutes, England eventually conceded while Marland Yarde was in the sin bin, with May left in no man’s land on the short side of a ruck as Conrad Smith crossed for the All Blacks to eventually made their man advantage count.

The second game of the three-match series takes place in Dunedin on Saturday.
