SWINDON Rugby club are set to host their second annual sevens festival this weekend following the success of last year’s tournament.
The 2013 edition of the event proved to be a fantastic day of rugby, enjoyed by all the teams, including sides from Somerset, Birmingham and the Swindon area. The day also included music and food, as well as a fun day for all the family.
This year’s competition, which will take place at Greenbridge Road on July 19, promises to be even bigger and better, with 16 teams competing for the £1,000 first prize.
Last year’s champions, Sailor Jerry’s, are returning to defend their title against familiar faces from last year and some new teams from across the country. In addition to the rugby, there will be a bouncy castle, BBQ and many other family activities.
Doors will open at 10.30am and there will be ample car parking at both the rugby club and the adjacent WH Smith building.
