SUPERMARINE Ladies were handed their bigest defeat of the season at Plymouth on Sunday The hosts were clinical in securing a 82-7 win. Suffice to say that Supermarine were outclassed by the speed and flare displayed by the Plymouth team.

Quick offloading play and a well practised formula of shipping the ball to their flyers early, left Plymouth racking up the points steadily throughout the first half.

Supermarine’s play was not without merit however. Despite the game being out of reach by the end of the first-half they never let their heads drop.

Some strong forward play midway through the second half afforded Supermarine their only try of the game.

A powerful run by Claire Chard concluded with a quick pick and go by captain and scrum half Claire Wilson and a conversion by Natalie Williams.

Despite breakaway opportunities being continually capitalised on by Plymouth, Supermarine were able to exert pressure going forward that ultimately resulted in a yellow card for the home team in the latter stages of the match.

Unfortunately determination and spirit doesn't always show on the scoreboard and Supermarine have a lot of work to do going forward.

Despite Sunday#s scoreline Supermarine Ladies are confident that they will learn from the experience and are eagerly anticipating the return fixture.

Forward of the match went to Donna Martin-Mulholland and back of the match went to Jo Tulip.
