SUPERMARINE ladies lost out in a narrow defeat at league rivals Rosslyn Park in a Knockout Cup fixture on Sunday.

A very even contest ended 5-0 to the hosts with very little to separate the two teams for most of the match.

Supermarine started well with the majority of the first half played in the opposition 22, but they were unable to convert the pressure into points due to handling errors and poor decision making a theme that continued throughout the match.

Rosslyn Park came back at Supermarine at the end of the first half with poor discipline gifting the home team field position they needed to barrel their way over the try line just before the half-time whistle.

The second half, was just as attritional as the first with neither team able to take control of the match. More ill-discipline from Supermarine resulted in a yellow card for scrum half Nat Williams, although Rosslyn Park were unable to use the extra player to their advantage.

Despite the final score Marine can find positives in their defensive efforts it is fair to say that the crippling inability to show any flair going forward is a tough pill to swallow in a game that should have been won by the Swindon team.

Forward of the match went to Hannah Sherratt and back of the match was Lianne Bartleman.
