SEAN Lynn is hoping that a week off will help his battered and bruised Swindon side recover in time for their trip to Trowbridge.

The Greenbridge Road outfit fell to their third consecutive defeat on Saturday as they lost 22-5 to Towcestrians, the South West One East’s second-placed side.

However, following a raft of injuries which includes skipper and influential fly-half Adam Westall, Lynn has been pleased with the level of performances that have been on show.

“You have to give credit to the boys that have stepped in,”said the Swindon coach. “They have all worked incredibly hard and competed.

“Now we have got a week off and hopefully we should get the squad near full again, and we can look forward to going to Trowbridge.

“On Saturday, we were without Adam Westall because after the Witney match, he had to have external and internal stitches to his ear.

“But it was pleasing to see that we have got players who can step in and play at 10 when needed.”

Lynn, who missed Swindon’s success at Towcestrians earlier in the campaign, admitted that he was impressed with how efficient their visitors were.

Swindon’s only points came from an Ollie Willson try following a series of phases that allowed the winger to crash over.

“I wasn’t expected them to be as clinical as they were,” Lynn said. “They are a good side and I was impressed with them.”

Despite Saturday’s loss at Greenbridge Road, Swindon remain in fourth place.

However, their Northamptonshire visitors have now closed the gap on leaders Chippenham, who suffered a 24-7 defeat at Grove.
