SWINDON will welcome back influential skipper and fly-half Adam Westall for their trip to Trowbridge this weekend.

The veteran stand-off suffered an injury to his ear during the 15-5 defeat to Witney at the end of January that required stitches both internally and externally.

However, following a week’s break head coach Sean Lynn said that the former Lydney man will be back to face Steve Ojomoh’s men in South West 1 East.

“It is great that we have got Adam back,” Lynn said. “He picked up an injury against Witney and we have missed him.

“Dave Cox is also fully fit again and comes back into contention to start, while (scrum-half) Connal Knott got a game last weekend so we are getting the squad back up to full fitness again.”

The Greenbridge Road side make the trip to Paxcroft looking to put a run of three consecutive defeats behind them.

But while results haven’t been going their way, Lynn has been pleased with the level of performance his side have displayed.

And the clash with last season’s RFU Intermediate Cup champions will see two sides who will be keen to put a run of losses behind them.

“You can’t look too much at the results,” Lynn said.

“They could have injuries – like we have.

“You don’t know what the level of performance has been like – you have to take all that into consideration.

“What I do know is that I’m expecting a close game. When we played them at our place (in October) it was a very close match (Swindon won 28-23) and I think it even tighter tomorrow.”

Lynn is also hoping that last weekend’s break will have allowed his players to fully recharge the batteries and have them raring to go.

“The players had the weekend off on a Valentine’s weekend too,” Lynn said.

“Now they should be refreshed and ready because we now have three important games coming up.”

Meanwhile, Supermarine will be looking to claim their first win of the season when they entertain Wimborne in Southern Counties South.

And Swindon College Old Boys aim to continue their push for promotion from Berks/Bucks and Oxon Premier when they make the journey to Maidenhead-based Phoenix.
