HEAD coach Sean Lynn does not want Swindon’s hard-fought win over Windsor to be for nothing when they take on bottom side Bletchley on Saturday.

Lynn’s men have been badly out of form of late and ended a run of four successive defeats with a narrow 27-26 victory at home last time out.

Swindon should follow that up with another success when they take on a Bletchley side who have won just twice in South West One East this season.

However, one of those wins was in the last fortnight against Newbury Blues and that result has made Swindon boss Lynn extra cautious over a possible upset this weekend.

“It’s going to be a tough game and it’s never easy whenever you go away from home in this league,” said Lynn.

“Newbury are a decent side and Bletchley beat them recently. You have to have something about you to be able to do that.

“They are a decent team and are scrapping away at the bottom of the league, which makes them an even more difficult prospect.

“We’re going to be have to be on our game if we want to get something out of it.

“It was good to get that win last weekend. The mood in the camp afterwards was a lot different to what it has been in the previous few weeks.

“You’ve always got an extra bit of a spring in your step after a win and hopefully we can have that feeling again on Saturday.”

Swindon are without a fixture next weekend and that has given Lynn even more of an incentive to come back from Manor Field with a good result.

The big local derby away at Chippenham is already looming large on the horizon and Lynn wants to hit top form ahead of that match.

“I want to win on Saturday becuase then we’ve got a break before coming back for two huge games against Buckingham and Chippenham,” said Lynn.

“We want a win here and then a win against Buckingham when we come back so we’ve got a bit of momentum heading into Chippenham.”

Swindon could be without scrum-half Connal Knott against Bletchley as he is suffering with illness, with Tim Berry set to deputise should he fail to recover. Flanker Mike Thompson is definitely out.

Lynn added: “Connal was ill last week and had to pull out just before the game.

“Tim Berry is back from university. He came in for us last week and it might be that he plays again. He is a valuable member of the squad and was a big part of our success at the start of the season.

“We’ve got a few boys missing but then we’ve had someone like Josh James come in last week and do a tremendous job.

“He’s a young lad. He’s a tighthead and gave us a really good platform in the pack. We’ll look to see if we can give him another start again this weekend.”
