SWINDON St George will be looking to kick-start their league campaign this weekend when they play their first home game of the season.

The Supermarine-based side suffered a heavy 58-24 defeat in their opening game of the season last weekend at the hands of West of England Rugby League division newcomers Bath and Wiltshire Romans.

Despite a good period of play at the start of the second-half when St George pulled the score back to 24-30 with two quick tries, the Romans, who are newly formed this year, controlled the game.

Swindon, who were beaten play-off finalists last year, will be looking to put that defeat behind them quickly when they play host to Somerset Vikings on Saturday.

The Vikings are also looking for their first win of the season having been beaten by Bristol Sonics 62-0.
