SWINDON College Old Boys face a selection crisis as they prepare for their first home game in the Southern Counties North division.

Mark Lea is without six of the club’s props going into the weekend’s game with Bicester, with flanker Bobbi Tilling also sustaining a broken hand in College’s 14-5 defeat to Beaconsfield in their opening game of the season.

In better news Liam Davis returns to the side, and Lea still expects his side can beat Bicester, who started their campaign with a 14-10 win over Thatcham.

“We start the season with a mini crisis at front row with six of our first team’s props out with injury or away,” said Lea.

“We have a few people returning to the squad, including Liam Davis, so that will help us and make things better.

“We are taking it easy in training this week as the first game back is always brutal on the body.

“Bicester have always played running rugby when I have seen them, so I expect the same this weekend.

“They picked up a good win at the weekend so will be buoyed by that result.

“It is a game we can win, I am sure of that, so I’m looking for composure when we get opportunities and the same heart we always show.”
