SUPERMARINE head coach Sean Millwaters knows his team are in the firing line as they sit top of the Dorset & Wilts One North.

Being a first team in a league where five of the 12 sides are second string sides, Millwaters knows that they are always going to be a target for a shock result.

Supermarine travel to another first team this weekend in the form of Colerne, who completed an 86-0 rout over Supermarine’s second XV last season.

Despite believing his sides are favourite to pick up their third win of the season, Millwaters knows his men must not take their hosts lightly.

“Because we are a first team in a league where half the teams are second teams, we are always going to be in a position to be scalped,” said Millwaters.

“I don’t think there is any difference being top of the league. I think the fact that we are a first team; we are in the firing line.

“We don’t know much about Colerne. They came up from the league below last year, so they would have played our second team, and I think they beat our second team quite convincingly.

“There is a big difference between playing a second team and our first team this year.

“All I know is their pitch is a bit of an issue and we’re used to playing on a nice flat track “We will go there with our game plan and let’s not worry about Colerne – let them worry about us.

“If you look at their results, we would have to be favourites but you can’t go on that because we have played two second teams and they are a first team.”
