SUPERMARINE head coach Sean Millwaters believes that he will get a better idea of the tests his side will face this season when they visit Minety tomorrow.

Although this match is a Dorset and Wilts 1st XV Cup clash, Millwaters will not be allowing his men to lose their focus.

Having gone through the entire 2014-15 campaign without recording a single win, the South Marston men have made a flying start to life back in Dorset and Wilts One North.

Supermarine have won all three of their games this term and have racked up 169 points and only conceded 29.

However, Millwaters is not getting carried away and believes that Minety, who sit in fourth-place in the same division, give them a true indication of where they are this year.

“We have played a second team (Trowbridge) whose first team are not doing very well, a team that got promoted last season (Colerne) and Chippenham seconds, so you can’t really judge the season yet,” Millwaters said.

“It is only when you play the top two, three or four sides that you can judge how you will get on.

“Minety have made a good start to the season. They have won their last two games and only lost to Combe Down on the opening day. Our games against them are always hard, especially at their place.

“This is going to give us a good indication of what to expect this year and just because it is a cup match; we want to keep this winning run going.”

Millwaters also says that he has been impressed with how the players have reacted this season after last year’s winless campaign.

“There was a concern about how the lads would react this year, but we have kept the squad together and they want to put things right from last season,” Millwaters said.
