DIRECTOR of rugby Martin Lloyd says Swindon College Old Boys will not be pressing the panic button after their winless start to the season continued to Saturday.

SCOB remain rooted to the foot of the Southern Counties North table after going down 45-19 at home to high-flying Buckingham.

With no fixture this weekend, SCOB will spend extra time on the training field and Lloyd has promised to find a solution to their woes.

“We will carry on. The mood in the camp is still very good and the guys are all positive,” said Lloyd.

“We have a few games coming up that we are targeting doing well in. There’s no need to panic. We believe we are better than our league position.

“The guys are putting in all the hard work they can and we will fix this. We know we will turn the corner soon.

“When we have ball in hand, we are scoring tries. We are breaking down other teams but we have this spell for 20 minutes when their concentration slips and we fall off tackles. That’s something we need to put right.”

Damon Murphy touched down twice for SCOB against Buckingham while Joe Smedley also got over the whitewash and Lloyd reckons the final score was harsh on his team.

“They are a good side but the score doesn’t reflect the game,” said Lloyd.

“We just aren’t getting the rub of the green at the moment. We had an injury after 20 minutes, another one after 30 minutes, and a knock-on here, and that is costing us.

“It’s one of those things. Everything seems to be going against us at the moment.”
