SIMPLY more of the same would be just the trick for Supermarine head coach Sean Millwaters when his side visit Devizes’ second string this weekend.

Millwaters was gushing in his praise of his young team’s efforts in standing up to the physical challenge posed by Swindon 2nd and kept their opponents out in an 18-0 victory last week.

After getting back to winning ways in style, the Supermarine coach is hoping his charges will maintain their performance level against Dorset & Wilts One North’s basement boys but Millwaters is also keen to guide against overconfidence.

“I just want us to carry on where we left off,” said the Supermarine chief.

“We put in a really good performance against Swindon and you’d like to think that we can go to Devizes and do exactly the same thing but the only thing I’m worried about is overconfidence.

“We’re playing another second team. When you’re playing a second team, you never know what you’re going to get.

“If the first team have a long away trip, those players may not fancy that trip and you could end up playing against a bunch of first-teamers.

“Availability will be key for us too. As far as I know, our team shouldn’t change too much and if that’s the case, then we’ve got every chance of getting a good result.

“I also think the same game-plan that we had against Swindon should work again, as long as we perform as well as we did last weekend.”

Supermarine are currently fifth, just a point behind Minety and Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd.
