SWINDON will be looking to make it two wins from two when they prepare to face Maidenhead in South West One East tomorrow.

Sean Lynn’s side will go into the game on the back of a soggy 22-15 opening day victory over Grove thanks to tries from Ash Taylor, Sam Williams and Jon Morrison.

The Swindon head coach will now take his side to Maidenhead who also managed to get their first win out of the way when they beat Royal Wootton Bassett with the last kick of the game to make it 20-19 last Saturday.

When the two sides met last year, they both made the most of home advantage to get a win each, with Maidenhead winning 34-31 in April and Swindon winning 52-23.

Last weekend Swindon claimed their win after playing through some awful weather conditions and Lynn is hoping his team won’t have to do the same again this week.

“If the weather is dry then it’s a different game to our last one, they play on an artificial pitch so it’ll probably be completely different to last Saturday,” said the Swindon boss.

“We are just taking different approaches to training this week and hoping we can get another W at the weekend.”

Having been in the league for a while now, Lynn also believes he knows all there is to know about the opposition and is confident of another win.

“They’ve been in the league a while and are very strong at home, I feel we can beat them if our boys turn up,” he added.

“If we have the right attitudes then we definitely have the skill level and the squad to do it, it’s just a case of turning up on the day and making sure everything is in place.”

The only bug bear from Saturday is that they failed to come out of the game unscathed as Connal Knott picked up an injury so will be unable to play on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bassett will be looking to put last weekend’s final-minute heartbreak behind them when they travel to early season pace setters Newbury Blues.

Newbury sit top of the pile after the opening weekend of the season having dispatched Reading Abbey 295 away from home last weekend.
