SWINDON College Old Boys will turn their attentions away from their league campaign as they take on Slough in the South Counties Senior Vase.

Mark Lea’s side have been going well in the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Premier and currently sit top of the pile with 12 wins from 12 as things stand.

Their latest victory was a routine affair as they claimed all the points on offer in a 52-15 win over Chesham.

Due to his team’s good form, Lea will face a tough decision of who to include in his squad for this weekend’s cup clash.

“It is difficult (to choose). What I tend to do is be honest and if a side has done well the week before, I stick with that side,” said Lea.

“I think that is fair. If people are unavailable for any reason, I tend to stick with the side who has played well.

“You can gap fill with players when you have some who are unavailable but the thing about the cup is instead of having three subs, you can have seven.”

Lea is also unsure with what type of team his side will come up against tomorrow after College Old Boys ran riot when they last met in domestic competition with an emphatic 82-7 win.

He also revealed his players don’t lack any motivation when it comes to the cup trip to Slough.

“They get excited about the cup to be honest, they are more excited about that than they are about the league,” added Lea.

“To be honest, we've played them once this season and we beat them heavily but they sent a very poor side down.

“We don’t know what to expect although, our results in the league suggest that we are favourites.

“All I can do is ask them to play them in the style that they have been playing and make sure we win the battle in the first 20 minutes."

To further Lea’s selection headache, College Old Boys will have both Damon Murphy and Rory O’Brien available for selection.
