SWINDON College Old Boys will be keen to banish the memory of their last outing in Southern Counties South tomorrow when they head to Frome.

After defeating Swanage and Wareham 21-8 at Pipers Way, College followed that up with a 15-8 success over then league leaders Devizes.

However, Martin Lloyd’s side were unable to make it three in a row when they suffered a 35-0 home thrashing by a resurgent Trowbridge side.

“Trowbridge played very well against us, it is disappointing to have lost – especially as we had been going so well before that match,” Lloyd said.

“We’ve spoken about that game and we have dealt with it and hopefully we can move on against Frome.

“We have been making some changes during training and we will look to put that into practice against Frome. If we can go there and get a result it will show that the Trowbridge match was just a blip – you don’t become a bad side overnight.

“The league is already looking like it is having a decisive top and bottom half split.

“We want to make sure that when we get games we think we can get something out of that we do that.

“We will send a strong team to Frome and everyone is looking to try and get the win – if we play like we did against Devizes a couple of weeks ago I’m sure we can get a result.”

Royal Wootton Bassett will be keen to get back on to the paddock tomorrow when they welcome Stratford-upon-Avon to Ballards Ash.

Bassett went into the break having claimed their first win of the season a fortnight ago having beaten local rivals Swindon 29-27 on their own patch.

With their first win under their belt, Bassett now face a side that have four won of their opening six matches - including a 27-20 success over Oxford Harlequins in their last outing.

Swindon, meanwhile, face a daunting trip to Salisbury as they look to halt their poor form.

The Greenbridge Road side’s only win this season came in the second win of the campaign and the loss to Bassett was their fourth in a row.

In Dorset & Wilts One North, Supermarine, who were handed a home walkover win in the Senior Vase last weekend, head to Bassett 2nd tomorrow.
