FORMER Chippenham school boy Alex Crockett has resigned from Guinness Premiership outfit Bath Rugby amid drug allegations.
Crockett, Michael Lipman and Andrew Higgins all handed in their notice at the Rec today minutes before the trio were due to go before an internal disciplinary hearing.
A club inquiry was launched into scenes at an end of season party in London last month, with claims of drink and drug-related incidents.
It comes following Bath teammate Matt Stevens being banned from the game for two years in January having tested positive for cocaine.
In a statement this afternoon, Bath Rugby chief executive Bob Calleja said: "Michael Lipman, Alex Crockett and Andrew Higgins had been required to appear at an internal disciplinary hearing today to address the failure on three occasions to take a drugs test following allegations surrounding player conduct on Sunday, May 10.
"Immediately before the hearings were due to take place the players resigned from the club with immediate effect.
"The club regards this as an internal matter and intends to make no further comment"
