Arval turn off the power in opener

REIGNING champions Arval got off to a winning start in their two tag rugby opening league games.

They saw off much-fancied npower 11-9 in their first game and then beat Supermarine Ladies 18-12 in the second to go top of the table.

Add a Logo, starting this season with seven rookies, narrowly lost 17-15 to BaaBaa’s on the opening day, despite Jamie Whatcott’s fve tries.

They were awarded a 10-0 win over TSB in a walkover result. Supermarine Ladies were also given a 10-0 walkover result against TSB.

The Wild Rockets started their third season with a 12-8 win against Research Council.

In a close-run second match against Nationwide, Rockets lost by a single point in a 10-9 thriller.

Boasting new faces, npower could only draw 7-7 against Research Council after losing two players in their first game due to injury.

It was a mixed first round for Wilts Police as they lost 8-6 to Nationwide but beat BaaBaa’s 7-6.
