SWINDON will be looking to get their impressive home form back on track when they host Bletchley tomorrow in South West 1 East.
In their last outing at New Pavilion, Neil Loader’s side suffered a surprise 22-0 defeat to Witney in the absence of a number of first-choice players, which was only their second home loss in nearly two years.
Loader is keen for his men to put the record straight this weekend, and told the Advertiser he wants to build as much momentum as possible to maintain their position in the top half of the division.
“In any league and in any sport you have to go out there and try to win as many home games as you can,” he said.
“Any form of momentum home and away is going to be the key to any side’s success and that is what we are aiming for now.
“We have started the season very well and we want that to continue.
“Bletchley are quite a good side and last time we played them, we won, but scored two or three late tries which made the score look a lot better than it was.
“We will need to play a little better than this time that but I think we should be able to win.”
In the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Premier, Swindon College Old Boys will be pleased to be back on home turf after two tough away trips in recent weeks.
Martin Peaple’s men lost at the league’s top two, Drifters and Thatcham, but face another tough game against the side immediately above them, Bicester.
In National League 3 South West, Chippenham take on Old Patesians in a midtable clash.
