WOOTTON Bassett Under 11s ended their season on a high by winning the Melksham Minis festival.
Bassett faced the hosts first up, winning 30-0 thanks to tries from Brandon Spillane (3), Owain Kinsman, Corey McLaren Hunt and Sam Clarke.
They had to settle for a draw in the second match against Bradford on Avon. There was little between the teams in a tense game which ended up 0-0.

In their final game, Bassett faced Frome and ran in five tries to claim a 25-5 win.
Taylor Rowe scored twice, with other tries coming from Edward Gerrah, Corey McLaren Hunt and Sam Fry to clinch the tournament trophy.
BASSETT Under 12s also took the honours, with wins over Melksham CATs and Frome.
They got off to a flying start with a 15-5 victory over Melksham CATs, with tries coming from Marcus Sturla, Tom Clarke and Oscar Turtle.
Needing a draw or win to take the trophy, Bassett faced Frome in their final game but conceded twice to trail 10-0 at the break.
Midway through the second half Brandon Dawes scored a breakaway try and then Harry Rees recovered a long kick and ran the length of the pitch to level things up and allow Bassett to take the trophy.
BASSETT Under 7s came within a whisker of emulating their older teammates, but had to settle for the runners-up spot.
They opened up a two-try advantage in their first game against Melksham CATs A, but let the lead slip and the game finished 7-7.
Victories then followed over Frome (6-5) and Melksham CATs B (8-2) to go joint top, but Melksham CATs A were declared winners by the virtue of scoring more tries on the day.
Bassett's scorers were Jenkins (4), MacLean (3), Flower (3), Webber (3), Meredith (2), Barton (2), Heaps (2), Stacey and Cowling.
WOOTTON Bassett Under 9s also took the runners-up spot at the Melksham Minis festival.
Bassett lost against Melksham CATs 15-0, but recovered to beat Bradford on Avon 25-10, with tries from Lenton-Jinks (2), Ward, Frame and Mutton.
The final game saw Bassett then beat the eventual winners Frome 15-0, with scores from Mutton (2) and Frame, but Frome took the honours having scored the most tries.
BASSETT Under 10s also came runners-up, narrowly losing out to Melksham with the last score of the match.
ON Saturday, Wootton Bassett's under 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s travelled to London Irish to take part in a rugby masterclass, organised and run by the Premiership side's coaches.
Later in the day the youngsters then went on to form the guard of honour for the Guiness Premiership match between London Irish and Harlequins.
