CAPTAIN Troy Batchelor has insisted tonight’s visit of Leicester will be far from an easy one for the Robins.

While the Lions sit second bottom of the standings, they possess a number of riders who have previously ridden for the Robins and know the Blunsdon track well.

Batchelor has been impressed with Jason Doyle and Mads Korneliussen’s form during the 2014, which has earned both riders World Cup calls, and for that reason knows tonight is going to be a real test.

“They’ve already been here once this season and they have some guys who can pedal,” he said.

“Doyley’s been going well this season and he’s going to be one to watch and Mads is going well too; they’re both having great years and will be riders we need to watch for sure.

“I think they will be tough and no meeting’s easy, sometimes you look at some on paper and think it’s easy but when you do that it isn’t.

“We’ve seen it a lot of times this year when we shouldn’t have lost but have against teams we should beat, so we’ll have to see what we can do.”

Leicester come to Wiltshire without Simon Stead and Josh Bates, who are both riding for Sheffield in the Premier League, with Sam Masters and James Sarjeant in their places.

Lions boss Norrie Allan is happy with the replacements he has brought in, believing Masters will work well in tandem with number one Doyle.

“Doyle and Sam both rode together for Somerset a while back, so they are fully in tune with how and where each other like to ride the track,” said Allan.

“It was sensible that they are our opening pairing at Swindon. We will also include James Sarjeant as a guest to cover for Josh.

“It is a shame that we go there without Simon and Josh, who are riding very well, but even so I am expecting us to give a better account of ourselves this time around.”
