SWINDON Robins rider Troy Batchelor believes his World Championship future is still in his own hands despite a disappointing night in Stockholm on Saturday.
It was a night to forget for the Robins skipper who failed to qualify for the semi-finals after only scoring eight points, including two last place finishes.
The Aussie, who began the night in eighth place in the overall standings, has now slipped down to 11th after close rival Jarek Hampel, won the meet, Andreas Johnsson and Freddie Lindgren all had good nights.
Batchelor now heads to Torun in two weeks time knowing he needs a big performance to secure automatic qualification for 2015.
“It’s really tight with the points and anyone can make it,” said Batchelor.
“My future is in the balance, but it’s in my own hands.
“I’ll go out there, give it my all and hope for the best. I’ll be giving it my best as well.”
The 27-year-old will be hoping to bounce back when he joins the Robins for the play-off semi-final against Coventry Bees tonight.
