AUSSIE Nick Morris has been announced as the latest piece in the Swindon Robins jigsaw for the 2015 season.

The 20-year-old was always expected to return to the Abbey Stadium but the club confirmed his return today.

Morris, who won the Queensland Under 21 title at the weekend, is looking forward to a return to Alun Rossiter’s side and will be hoping to secure a heat leader spot once again as he bids for a more consistent season.

“I have had some good times there and looking forward to racing at the Abbey again,” Morris told the Advertiser.

“I have been at Swindon for a while now and I like the fans and the people and the track as well, and it is a good club to ride for when everything is going good.

“It was an up and down season last year and a bit inconsistent for my liking but we’re doing some practice now and trying to work on the things that we were doing wrong.

“I’ve just got to step it up again and try and hold on to the heat leader’s spot.”

The acquisition of Morris is Swindon’s fifth of the winter, adding to captain and fellow countryman Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth and draft picks Lewis Rose and Charles Wright.

Morris is currently back in Australia, where he is resting up ready for another ‘hectic’ season.

“It is good to hear that Troy will be captain again next year. I get on well with Troy and he always helps me with whatever I need,” added the Robins man, who is also aiming to become number one rider in the Premier League with Glasgow Tigers next year.

“Rosco is awesome he knows what to say to get you fired up and he is good with all the boys and knows what he is doing as well.

“He loves to have a laugh and keeps all the boys relaxed, which is what you need. I am just letting Rosco do his thing and we’ll see what the team looks like at the end but I am sure he is going to do everything he can to make it a competitive team and we’ll be fighting for the play-offs again.

“I am back in Australia for a few months until the end of February so I am just relaxing and riding a little bit.

“It is always good to be back with your friends and chill out a bit. It can be a hectic year when you are racing so it is good to chill out for a while.”
