SWINDON Robins boss Alun Rossiter has urged fans to be patient as his team starts to take shape for the 2015 season after welcoming back Nick Morris.

Rossiter has admitted that this close season has been particularly tough as he tries to build a league winning side, but has insisted that he will not rush into making the wrong decision.

The Abbey Stadium boss is hoping the return of Morris along with fellow countryman Troy Batchelor will help bring some consistency to the team as they aim to make the play-offs for a fourth consecutive time.

“I am happy because he is a rider we have invested in and we see as the future,” said Rossiter, who was happy that the deal had gone smoother than it did last year.

“I am pleased that we haven’t got the same problems as last year and Nick has realised we have been pretty loyal with him and we have done the same this year.

“He is just a youngster who is coming through and he has got no fear.

“But I do think there are certain areas this year where he has got to step it up a bit – like in his fitness – and show a little bit more commitment in the workshop.

“If he can do that then he can go a lot further.

“We’re a close family now and we are trying to keep the same kind of people about.

“We have had it for the last two or three years now and we are trying to get a bit of continuity because I think that will help keep the team together.”

With the addition of Morris, Rossiter now has only two spots to fill in his team for next year, including a number one rider.

Despite Peter Kildemand telling the Advertiser last week that a return to England was ‘extremely unlikely’, the Swindon team manager is still hoping to strike a deal now the club have received the draft fixture list.

“I have spoken to him (Kildemand) again and it is not out of the window,” he added.

“We’ve just got the fixture list in now and we’ll be sending it to him and see what he is thinking.

“We’re trying to maximise people being in the country at the same time and trying to make life a little bit easier for everybody.

“I am happy with where the team is at. I know everybody is a little bit nervous and a little bit jittery but there is still plenty of time to come.

“I am not going to announce somebody just for the sake of it. I am going to do what is right for the club and what is right for the team.”
