OUTGONG Swindon Robins asset Jason Doyle clinched victory in the opening round of the 2015 Australian Championship in Gillman this morning.
Doyle, who has been announced as Leicester Lions number one next season with a full transfer poised to go through, saw off his rivals, including 2014 Robin Dakota North in the final in the Adelaide suburb.
Swindon and Leicester are still to negotiate a transfer fee for the 29 year old, who has handed a transfer request into the British Speedway Promoters' Association.
Doyle won four of his five heats this morning and then clinched victory in a re-run final after North had fallen. Nort eventually finished fourth.
