ABBEY Stadium chief Alun Rossiter is hoping to install the final cog in his 2015 Swindon Robins machine next week.

Robins manager Rossiter has been in discussions with a potential new number one rider and is hoping to reveal the final member of his line-up for next season by next Thursday.

Swindon, who have been heavily linked with a move to bring 29-year-old Pole Adrian Miedzinski back to the club, have already recruited Troy Batchelor, Nick Morris, Kyle Howarth and Grzegorz Zengota, with Lewis Rose and Charles Wright coming in as reserves.

“We’re just in the midst of talking to the number one and making sure everything’s all good,” said Rossiter.

“We’re due to meet him shortly and hopefully we can finalise something around about the 4th or 5th of February. We’re not a million miles away.

“He’ll do the job; the rider we’ll bring in. We won’t be bringing in a sub-standard rider or anything like that - that’s not the way we work.

“I’m confident that once we get the deal done, he’ll come in and do a good job.

“Obviously we’re disappointed that we tried to convince Peter (Kildemand) and we tried to convince a couple of others that got away but hey, that’s speedway and you’ve got to live with it.

“I’m confident that things will be alright.”
