GRZEGORZ Zengota can’t wait to take flight as his second stint as a Swindon Robin gets underway today against Poole Pirates.

The 26-year-old spent two seasons at the Abbey Stadium but has spent the majority of time since then racing outside of Britain, barring a year with Coventry Bees in 2013.

Zengota was seen to be the next bright thing during his first stint after an impressive debut season, however injury marred his last campaign at the Abbey when he injured his right thigh and it took him a while to regain his confidence.

Now Zengota has his self-belief back and believes that the side that manager Alun Rossiter has put together is a strong one.

The Pole will be joined by fellow countryman Adrian Miedzinski as they make their eagerly-anticipated Swindon return against a strong Poole side featuring former Robins men Dakota North, Kacper Gomolski and Maciej Janowski.

“I am happy that I came back because I have good memories of this place and I am happy that I can start again and I hope that I will be good like four years ago,” said the Pole, who will also be racing in Poland, Sweden and possibly the Czech Republic.

“We have a good team so we will fight.

“With Adrian as the second Polish rider, it is good because I can talk with him about the little things, which is not so bad.

“It is good information for me when I signed the contract.

“I would like to go up (in average) not go down and not crash, and I hope that I will make the next step in my career and I will be better.

“I will be riding in Poland and Sweden and maybe the Czech Republic as well, but my regular starts will be in England and Poland.”
