ADRIAN Miedzinski’s hand injury is not as bad as first feared as he flies back to Poland to undergo surgery.

Swindon Robins team manager Alun Rossiter has moved quickly to get in two of the three replacements needed for Thursday’s meeting at home to Lakeside with familiar faces returning to the Abbey.

The 2012 title winning skipper Hans Andersen will be joined by Scott Nicholls to guest in place of Miedzinski and Troy Batchelor.

That leaves just a replacement for Lewis Rose needing to be found but Rossiter is confident he will be able to find a third guest very soon.

Meanwhile Miedzinski is on his way back to Poland for surgery on his badly damaged finger, sustained against Poole on Monday.

The 29-year-old was hoping the work could be carried out in Bristol today but this hasn’t been possible so he has booked a flight home.

“There was no room for him at Bristol so he’s heading home,” Rossiter told the Swindon Robins’ official website.

“I think the operation will be tomorrow or Thursday now.

“They are saying it might not be quite as bad as we feared, but bad enough. He won’t be able to ride for a few weeks that’s for sure.

“It means I am scrambling around for guest replacement for Thursday’s home meeting with Lakeside when we are going to need the support of every Swindon fan who backed us on Monday.

“We will bounce back from this I’m certain.”
