SCOTT Nicholls feels like he has a point to prove when he returns to guest for the Swindon Robins this evening.

The Brit had a torrid time at the Abbey during his one season with the Robins as he was part of the side that finished bottom of the Elite League in 2011.

However, Nicholls made a successful return to Wiltshire two weeks ago when he claimed the Bob Kilby title and is hoping he can build on that success against Lakeside this evening.

“It’s an extra meeting and it was enjoyable doing the Bob Kilby, so I am looking forward to riding there again,” said the Belle Vue Ace.

“The season I had for Swindon wasn’t so great so it will be nice to put in a good performance for them tomorrow night.

“Swindon is just one of those tracks where I can be really good or really bad, I think everybody has tracks that are a bit hit and miss.

“It was a hit for the Bob Kilby and hopefully it will be another hit for Swindon tomorrow night.”

Nicholls kicked off his league season by scoring 11 points in Belle Vue’s defeat to Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening.

The 36-year-old is expecting a tough night against Lakeside Hammers but believes that a make-shift Swindon side has what it takes to claim a first victory of the campaign.

“They’re a strong side,” added Nicholls.

“They have got a strong line-up and they will be stiff opposition for everybody.

“Every dog has its day and Swindon will be a little bit depleted with the nasty injuries they have had but it looks as though they have some good guests in place.

“They lost to Poole in unfortunate circumstances so it will be good for the team to turn it around and get the win.

“It’s not very often that happens to that degree and it is unfortunate that it is all Swindon riders that it happened to, but that is the way it goes sometimes and I wish those guys all the best.

“In the meantime I will just do the best job I can.”
