PETER Kildemand has admitted that he was missing riding in England after announcing a return to the Abbey Stadium.

The season may only be two weeks young but the Danish rider admitted that he was pining for a return to England and is glad that it has worked out.

The former Robins number one will come in to replace injured Adrian Miedzinski, who has flown back to Poland for surgery on his hand, and will be available to ride for the away meeting with King’s Lynn on Wednesday, April 22.

“Rosco (Alun Rossiter) gave me a call almost straight away after the meeting on Monday and we have been able to get it organised over the last few days,” Kildemand told the Adver.

“I am very much looking forward to returning, I had missed the start of the English season and I think it is going to be a good two months being back.

“Once the season started in England I realised that I was missing it and I am glad to have the chance to come back.

“It is always sad to see someone get injured and I wish Adrian a speedy recovery.

“At the moment I have planned to come back for the rest of April and May until the World Cup, and I think Adrian should be back after that.

“I am going to be busy in May but I will be organised and I think there is only one meeting that clashes with a race in Sweden that I will be missing.

“To be fair I have always liked to ride for Swindon and I am going to come back and see all the people I know which will be nice.”

Swindon Robins head coach Alun Rossiter described the phone call with Kildemand as one of the easiest he has had to make and is delighted to welcome back the fan favourite.

“I am very happy,” he said.

“I said Pete I am in the lurch and I said that I needed him and he said yes ok and that was it.

“We had a bit of negotiation to do, but that was pretty straight forward and I would like to thank our main sponsor M&S Van and Truck Rentals for making it happen too.

“I would rather have somebody there who is going to be there every week, rather than using guests but that is our sport unfortunately.

“People moan about guests but we need them.

“If we can replace someone and get somebody in then all well and good.”
