KYLE Howarth has been crowned the 2015 British Under 21s speedway champion after a thrilling final in Coventry.
The Swindon Robin was leading in final before Ash Morris slipped off and was excluded.
In the re-run at Brandon the Blunsdon ace came back out and beat off the challenge of Robert Lambert and Stefan Nielsen to take the title.
Earlier in the night, Howarth won four of his five heats to automatically qualify for the finale with Lambert, who had won all his races prior to the showpiece.
The Swindon star had a scare in his final heat of the night as he took fall into the fence and required treatment before sealing his win.
It was a fine win Howarth, as he finally claimed the top prize having fallen agonisingly short at the final hurdle in 2012 and 2013.
Following his win, the 21 year old will become the first rider to be presented with the Lee Richardson Memorial Shield at the British Final in June.
