ROBINS skipper Troy Batchelor is ready to start firing on the Grand Prix circuit after blasting back to form for Swindon on Thursday.

The Australian ace heads into tonight’s Czech Grand Prize in Prague at 14th in the overall standings following his seven-point haul at last weekend’s Finnish GP at Tampere.

Batchelor’s start to the season has been affected by the shoulder injury he sustained in a crash riding for Swindon against Poole on Easter Monday but his performance against Leicester on Thursday was a step in the right direction.

He told speedwaygp.com: “I got a few points in Tampere and it was okay – obviously better than Warsaw. I’m feeling better on the bike all the time.

“If you look at it now, seven points is not really where you want to be. But it’s a long season and I’ll be coming good; that’s for sure. It’s my second year and I know what to do. I feel more relaxed.

“Plenty can happen in the next 10 rounds. Firstly, you have to be at all of the rounds to get something out of it. Then you have to be scoring points.”

  • SWINDON Robins’ clash with Elite League leaders Coventry Bees is being televised by Sky Sports on Tuesday but the club are hoping to pack out the Abbey Stadium with their ticket offer to supporters.

£5 admission is still available for tickets purchased in advance, while children up to the age of 11 free of charge. See swindonrobins.co/homepage for more information.
