NICK Morris insists that he will treat tonight’s Speedway World Cup meeting just like another.

The Swindon Robin will be turning out in the colours of Australia for the first time at the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn.

The young rider, who has been in impressive form for the Blunsdon side this term, cannot wait for the tapes to fly up.

Morris will be joined by his Swindon teammate Troy Batchelor in the Aussie side and the 20-year-old cannot wait to have the flag of his country on the back.

“I haven’t really spoken to Troy about what to expect,” he said. “I’m just going to treat it like any other meet.

“I can’t wait to have the Aussie flag on my back and represent my country - I’m stoked.”

When Morris was called into Mark Lemon’s side at the end of May, the Swindon youngster was thrilled but as the meet which sees Australia go up against Great Britain, USA and Latvia nears, he says that he hasn’t really had time to let it sink in.

“I have been riding flat out since I got the call,” Morris said. “I haven’t really had chance to think about it.

“I getting nervous for most meets and I’m sure it will be the same at the World Cup, but that is a good thing and one that I’m hoping to use to my advantage.”

With Robins team manager Alun Rossiter in charge of the GB, Morris admits that it will take a lot for him to show the Abbey chief something different.

“He (Rossiter) has seen pretty much everything,” the Aussie added. “I’ve just go out and ride my best and hopefully that will be enough.”
