TONIGHT’S 14 point defeat to Leicester Lions could be the last in a Robins vest for Adrian Miedzinski as team manager Alun Rossiter admits that his team needs a shake up.

With Poole Pirates asset Darcy Ward appearing to be waiting in the wings, the Pole did himself no favours on his return from injury as he failed to score a single point in his three rides.

Rossiter admitted that the form of the team is a cause for concern and will be looking to shake things up for Thursday’s home meeting with Wolverhampton Wolves.

“We were just struggling all along, we were struggling, and it wasn’t good enough,” said the Swindon boss, who does not think anything permanent will happen by Thursday.

“Adrian’s head wasn’t there, he’s got a block now for Britain.

“We have to do something drastic now, so we’ll have to regroup tonight and have a think and see what we’re going to do.

“There’s nothing definite and there’s nothing sorted, so there’s nothing more to say on that.

“Adrian was keen, he had a good meeting for Torun yesterday, but you could see his head wasn’t there and I sadly think that will be it for Adrian now.

“He went to give it a go, but he has a mental block I think and that’s no good to anybody. It was a bad crash, don’t let anyone say anything different because it was an awful one, but once you do that the confidence goes and it’s clear it’s no good.

“I’m concerned, we need to sort it out and try to do something about it.”

Leicester skipper Jason Doyle took a four race maximum to help his side to a 52-38 win on a balmy evening in Leicestershire.

However, it was a night of mixed fortunes for Swindon captain, Troy Batchelor, as his bike problems continued, with him changing bikes before the first heat but he finally found some much-needed form to pick up two wins and a second-place finish in his final three races.

Polish rider Grzegorz Zengota continued to impress as he was one of the only positives to take from a dismal night for the Robins as he scored 11 points.

“It’s a tough track here, if you gate you’re fine,” added Rossiter.

“There were a couple of passes tonight but if you make mistakes then you can be passed, if you make a start it’s game over.

“There’s only so much I can do, I can try and motivate them but there’s only so much I can do.

“It’s down to them. I pulled them together halfway through and tried to rev them up but it wasn’t to be, it was just an awful night.”
